Dodgers Seeking To Set Major League Record Tonight
The Los Angeles Dodgers will try to set the modern- day major league record for consecutive start-of-the-season home victories tonight when they face the Washington Nationals at Dodger Stadium in a matchup of teams with Major League Baseball's best and worst records.

The Dodgers made three first-inning runs stand up in a 3-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday night to improve their home record to 12-0, equaling the post-1900 major league record set by the 1911 Detroit Tigers.

The Dodgers have won six consecutive games overall. Their 20-8 record is the best in Major League Baseball and their best start through 28 games since 1983, when they were 21-7. Washington is 7-17.

Clayton Kershaw (0-2) is scheduled to be the Dodgers' starting pitcher, facing Washington's Daniel Cabrera (0-2).

Ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and their mother Kris Jenner, stars of the E! unscripted series, "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
