Dodgers to Increase Security in Parking Lots
Security patrols will be increased in Dodger Stadium parking lots when the Los Angeles Dodgers begin their next homestand April 30 in an attempt to enforce rules against drinking alcohol, the team announced today.

Additional signs in English and Spanish will be posted at parking entrances and in parking lots reminding fans that alcohol cannot be brought onto the premises or consumed in parking lots, Dennis Mannion, the team's president and chief operating officer, said.

Violators are subject to ejection.

"These policies underscore our commitment to preserving the environment that families seek," Mannion said. "More than 99 percent of the fans act responsibly. We will be unrelenting in our pursuit of 100 percent."

A 30-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in a Dodger Stadium parking lot about 90 minutes after the Dodgers' home opener April 13, police said.

There was also a case of vandalism in a parking lot at the home opener, "but the victim refused to make a report," Los Angeles Police Department Officer Karen Rayner said.
