--RHP Hiroki Kuroda continued to make progress is his effort to come back from a mild left oblique strain, playing catch without discomfort. But there still isn't a date scheduled for Kuroda to throw a simulated game, and he has to do that before he can go on a minor league rehabilitation assignment. Kuroda hasn't pitched since opening day.
--RHP Jason Schmidt threw 100 pitches in an extended spring training game Monday. Schmidt will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, and if he feels OK after that, it is possible he finally could begin a minor league rehabilitation assignment by the weekend. Schmidt hasn't pitched in the majors since undergoing major shoulder surgery in June 2007. --3B Casey Blake lined into a triple play to end the second inning Monday. With runners on first and second, the runners broke on a pitch that Blake lined to short, with both runners then easily doubled off. It was the first triple play the Dodgers had hit into since Aug. 4, 1991 at Houston and the first triple play at Dodger Stadium since Colorado's Kurt Abbott hit a liner back at Dodgers pitcher Darren Dreifort on June 13, 1998.
