--LHP Clayton Kershaw pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs and six hits, but he still doesn't have a win in 17 starts this season with Class AA Jacksonville and with the Dodgers. Kershaw left with a 6-1 lead, but reliever Brian Falkenborg immediately gave up a three-run homer to Ty Wigginton, with two of those runs charged to Kershaw. This was Kershaw's eighth start in the majors.
--2B Jeff Kent's double in the fifth inning was the 497th of his career while playing second base. That tied him with Roberto Alomar for the most doubles as a second baseman since 1974. Kent had been tied with Craig Biggio, who had 496 doubles, for second on that list. --OF Andruw Jones played center field for the first time in the second game of his rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Las Vegas. Jones went 3-for-3 and is now 4-for-6 with a home run in two games. Barring a setback, he will be activated on July 18, when the Dodgers begin the second half at Arizona.
--INF Nomar Garciaparra, in the second game of his rehabilitation assignment, played shortstop for Class AAA Las Vegas after playing third on Monday. Garciaparra went 2-for-3 and is now 2-for-5 in two games. Barring a setback, he is expected to be activated when the Dodgers begin their final homestand of the first half Monday against Atlanta.
--C Russell Martin went 3-for-5 with a home run, double, walk, three runs and three RBIs. He now has 11 RBIs in his past 15 games. He also has struck out just four times in his past 12 games since fanning twice on June 18 at Cincinnati, and he is averaging just one strikeout every 8.6 plate appearances for the season.
BY THE NUMBERS: 5 -- Times in the modern history of baseball that a team has been no-hit in a game but still won, a result that means the game doesn't go on the books as a no-hitter. The Angels' Jered Weaver and Jose Arredondo combined to no-hit the Dodgers for eight innings on Saturday night, but the Dodgers won 1-0 on an unearned run after Matt Kemp reached on an error, stole second, took third on another error and scored on a sacrifice fly.
