Ramirez, a designated hitter for the second consecutive game, drove a 1-1 fastball from Ryan Rowland-Smith over the left-field bullpen in the first night game at Camelback Ranch.
Ramirez was 0-for-3 in his first game back Monday against the Los Angeles Angels, taking two called third strikes and grounding into a double play.
Dodgers manager Joe Torre said if Ramirez makes it through Tuesday night's game without any problems, he'll play the outfield Wednesday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
"He wants to try it and we're not going to know anything until we do it," Torre said. "If he goes out there, he can't worry about people saying, 'Hey, he loafed after the ball' and stuff. We're going to encourage him to measure what he does. Let the ball go to the wall if you have to."
