Only Lenny Harris had more pinch-hits (212) than Sweeney had during his 14-year career. Sweeney's 102 pinch-hit RBIs rank No. 1.

Harris is a member of the Dodgers' coaching staff, along with Manny Mota, whose 155 pinch-hits rank third on the career list.

The well-traveled Sweeney hit .254 with 42 homers and 250 RBIs in 1,218 games with St. Louis, San Diego, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Colorado and San Francisco before coming to the Dodgers in 2007. As a pinch-hitter, he batted .258 (175-for-679).

"I truly enjoyed my experience last season with the Dodgers, Joe Torre, and his staff," the 39-year-old Sweeney said. "I look forward to the opportunity to continue that association and to give something back to the game I enjoy so much."
